I went to the Delhi border to conduct an interview with the farmers protesting against the farm bills for my POLI 341 project. As depicted in the video under the title "Delhi Border Farmers Response" from the google drive link, it can be articulated that farmers didn't want the full privatization of the agricultural sector as they don't want big private companies to have a monopoly over the selling of their goods. But on the other hand, I also did an interview with farmers who lived in nearby villages but were not present in the protest at the time, their video interview can be found under the title village farmers response. In the interview, the village farmers said that they initially went to the first protests but later on started losing faith in their union leaders as they stayed toxically rigid even though the government provided a lot of flexibility and leniency, this was a major reason for those farmers to leave the protest.

I learned to look at the bigger picture from this project that I did as I only thought that the government was not doing its best to resolve the issue but after the interview with farmers from nearby villages I found that it was a black or white situation.
