Substance Dependency and Harm Reduction

We are a group of political science students based at the University of British Columbia dedicated to educating the public about Canada’s history and current public policies surrounding substance dependency. Our goal is to create a safer and healthier Canada, and we aim to do so, by identifying solutions to help victims of substance dependency and combat the stigma that is associated with addictions.

Trial Of Machiavelli

In this little short piece, I tried to explain the political ideology of Niccolò Machiavelli a 15th-century philosopher and diplomat. "Machiavelism", his ideology is called, and for a long time, people have associated his approach to ruling over a domain as tyrannical and fascist but I, in this short piece will try to explain and defend Machiavelli's ideology. I decided to write this short piece in a courtroom-style setting where I will act as an advocate for Machiavelli.

The Farmers' Protest: An interview with farmers of India

In 2021, I conducted some interviews with some Indian farmers who protested against the farm bill when it was introduced in 2020 to get to know their reasons for protesting against the government. In my interviews, I found a very intriguing argument that not all farmers supported the protest.
